Pilates for Scoliosis

Your Physiotherapist will assess your curvature of the Spine and determine if it is structural or functional. They will then set programming goals taking into consideration any problematic areas.

Programming goals may include:

  • Develop control and support of the spine, pelvis and shoulder blade
  • Use breathing patterns to help mobilise the thoracic (middle) spine and the ribs
  • Help develop the core muscles that support the spine
  • Add asymmetry to exercises

We use various Pilates props such as Rotational Discs, wobble cushions, foam rollers and arc barrels for scoliosis.
