Louise O’Rourke

BSc Hons Chartered Physiotherapist (MISCP) and Pilates Teacher, Mat & Reformer

As Founder and Clinical Director of Louise O’ Rourke Physiotherapy & Pilates, Louise’s goal is simple – “empower our clients to reach their optimal wellbeing through an innovative, whole-body approach”.

It is Louise’s diversity of experience and qualification as a personal trainer, Chartered Physiotherapist and Advanced Pilates Trainer that inspired this unique approach.

Louise began her career as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist in the fitness industry, following graduation from a degree in Leisure Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in 2003.

Louise went on to study Physiotherapy and graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Teesside, UK in 2008.

Working for the NHS in the UK for several years Louise gained experience in her passion area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy (all things muscles, bones, ligaments, nerves and tendons), as well as respiratory, medicine and orthopaedics.

During this time Louise also began to research the effect of Pilates on balance/ co-ordination, flexibility, core and breath control, pain management and rehab.

On returning to Ireland, Louise became a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP), moved into private practice and in 2013 opened Louise O’ Rourke Physiotherapy & Pilates – a practice that brings together clinical physio knowledge, Pilates experience and a fitness focus to optimise client’s holistic health – their movement and their mood.

Louise and her team apply their innovative approach to effectively treat many types of conditions including; shoulder pain, back pain, scoliosis, chronic pain, osteoporosis & bone health, postnatal recovery and post-surgery rehabilitation. She and her team also serve a broad client base focussed on maintaining and enhancing their fitness and wellbeing through mat or reformer Pilates.

Louise continuously strives to find advanced treatments and techniques to achieve the optimum results for her clients – a fact 50 + postgraduate courses, 20 + Pilates training courses and her partner Dave will attest to.
