Louise O’Rourke

BSc Hons Chartered Physiotherapist, MISCP

Louise completed a degree in Leisure Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in 2003 and went on to work in the fitness industry for the next few years. While working as a personal trainer Louise operated her own sports massage clinic treating various muscular injuries. Louise went on to study Physiotherapy and graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Teesside in the UK in 2008. Here she conducted research on the effect of Pilates on balance.

She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP).

After qualifying as a physiotherapist Louise worked in the NHS in the UK for three years and completed her core rotations in respiratory, medicine, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal out patients before moving into private practice. She has studied extensively on post-graduate courses. Louise has a passion for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (everything to do with muscles, bones, ligaments, nerves, tendons).

She is continuously striving to keep up to date with new research and trends in physiotherapy and pilates and finding new techniques so she can achieve the optimum results for her clients. Louise has completed training in many different Pilates methods over the past 13 years.  This broad spectrum of knowledge has helped her achieve great results with her clients.

Louise teaches several classes a week which includes Beginners (Back Pain), Improvers, Intermediate, Pre and Postnatal, Athletic Conditioning, Male Only and Osteoporosis (Bone Health) classes as well as one to one private sessions.

Louise has recently completed her Advanced Pilates Mat Training to help take her clients to the next level. This level requires deeper core-control, greater flexibility, advanced co-ordination and breath control with emphasis on safety. Louise has a special interest in back pain and Pilates rehab.
