Pilates

We are proud to help so many with our Pilates Classes on a daily basis.
You can expect to see life changing results and improvements in your health from our classes.
We have proven that Pilates is the ideal balance between injury, recovery, and prevention.

There are two options with Pilates – Pilates on the Mat or Pilates on the Reformer (machine). They are both excellent ways to strengthen your core muscles which will help with your back pain or injury.

From our classes you can expect to:

We have a specialised approach that we have been working on for 10 years. We know what works best for your back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain and much more. Out Teacher will guide you through the best movements for your body on that day.
We have an expert Team of 10 teachers. Our classes are small, with a maximum of 10, therefore our Teachers can focus on any area you may need to work on. They will have a handover from your Physio on your injury if you have seen a member of our Physio Team or from your screening form. Please feel free to ask your Teachers any questions you may have. Our classes have proven results. Please see our Testimonials.

Pilates

We offer 2 types of Pilates – Pilates on the Mat or Pilates on the Reformer (machine based). They are both excellent ways to enjoy Pilates and reap the endless benefits of practising regularly and consistently. The question we get asked most frequently is which is better and Louise’s response to this is that there is not one type that is better than the other. It is down to personal preference and a few other factors such as:
These factors will all determine which type you will benefit the most from. We recommend trying both and seeing which one you prefer and which type of class your body responds best to. The perfect Pilates recipe for optimum health would be a combination of both. We have been working with people with Pilates for a long time and have found at different stages in your life you may prefer the mat or the reformer. We offer 2 trial classes to try them both out.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind body exercise system aiming to develop optimal strength, flexibility, endurance and posture, without building bulk or stressing joints. It strengthens the deep stabilising muscles of the spine, the pelvic floor and the core muscles of the shoulders. Your teacher will take you through a series of exercises which will include the principles of Pilates. Most importantly it is an adaptable method and modification is the key to Pilates success with a variety of populations. All exercises are developed with modifications that can make a workout safe and challenging for a person at any level.

Pilates is suitable for you if:
If you have not exercised in a long time & want to start moving again. You would like to improve your health. If you would like to work on something that is preventing you from doing what you love. You would like to have some fun in a relaxed environment.
We recommend starting with a Back-to-Basics Class or a Beginners Class. This is the perfect starting point if you are new to Pilates. Your Teacher will guide you from there. You can start with Beginners Mat or Reformer. They are both for new clients.
Pilates is a gentle, low impact workout. This is why we advise a Basics class or a Beginners class to start with. This is a nice introduction into the exercises. The Teacher will talk you through everything in the Basics class. They will show you how the machine works and will modify the exercises to your ability. Please do call us if you would like any advice on where to start.
We recommend 1 class per week consistently. If you attend weekly, you will reap the rewards. We do have clients currently doing 2- 3 classes per week as they are getting so much benefit from the classes.
